Amber Forster, MSN, RNFA, NP, is a nurse practitioner on the UCSF Cardiothoracic Surgery service. As a nurse practitioner on the inpatient team, Amber helps facilitate the plan of care for the post-operative cardiothoracic surgery patients. As an RNFA, she also has the unique opportunity to work intra-operatively in these complex surgical cases.

Amber graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and then went on to graduate from Concordia University of Wisconsin with a Master of Science in Nursing. As her career began as a nurse practitioner, Amber developed a strong interest in procedural and surgical interventions. She went on to pursue these interests by receiving her RNFA certification, thereby receiving training on assisting in surgical cases.
